We think of architecture not as a single practice, but as several interlocking ones. Landscapes are inseparable from structures, ecology is inseparable from building requirements, and improving human relationships is the ultimate goal of any project. Aesthetic movements come and go, but we have found these principles to be timeless.
Our first job is to understand our client’s vision and needs, not to present our own. We value efficiency, direct communication that supports the creative process.
Through the years, we have been fortunate to collaborate with some excellent clients on some wonderful projects. We are always aspiring to deliver great outcomes for our future clients.
Damon Smit
I come from a nature based up bringing, having homes in several bush settings in Australia. I’m well travelled- particularly through Europe, where I observed the rich history of buildings through many different cultures. One of my greatest discoveries being Antonio Gaudi’s ‘‘Organic Architecture.’’
I have a great love for the beauty of nature in all its forms and I like to embrace these elements into the places we live. I feel I’m an artist at heart and want to create spaces that enhance one’s senses.
I’ve experience in building management & construction not only in Australia but Overseas. My studies include qualification as a Building Practitioner (Building Design Vic.) as well as several architectural design studio units (UWA). In addition my background in Horticulture, Landscape Design & Construction (previous business based in Fremantle, WA.) I believe I bring a lot of paints to the palate of building design. Some of my strongest qualities are: A foresight to the reality to a design (balancing the scales between clients, budget & regulations). My communication between all parties involved in the design & building process comes with confidence based on experience. In addition my time management is exceptional. I appreciate good working relationships with my clients-honesty and punctuality go a long way.
